The new way to preserve your bouquet

WHY BOUQUET PHOTOGRAPHY? WHY FLORAGRAPHICA?

Your wedding flowers are the most beautiful flowers you will ever own.  You put so much love and care into choosing them and they look absolutely stunning on the day.  And then . . . ? Usually, not much happens, and that is such a shame.

This is where we step in.  Straight after the wedding, we collect and photograph your bouquet and create a beautiful artwork that you will love the rest of your life. We truly capture it in all its glory. And because it is photography, you can make it any size you want, as many times as you want. You can create a single, beautiful, unique hanging artwork, a series of artworks, or cover a whole wall with wallpaper; you can turn the image into a doona cover, or cushion covers so you can live in your bouquet; or you can create a scarf so you can wear your bouquet. Or you can do all of the above. Prices start at $698.

Bouquet photography won’t degrade with age like pressed or dried flowers; doesn’t introduce plastics into the environment like resinated flowers/bouquets, and gives you a range of image options of your true flowers, unlike bouquet paintings or sketches.

Bouquet photography is what Floragraphica specialises in and we do it beautifully. We were the first business ever to capture bouquets in this way and even now there is no other business that does what we do - we are very proud of that. Our couples love their pieces as much as they loved their bouquets.

HOW IT WORKS

THE PROCESS

START HERE:

  1. Complete our contact form or get in touch with us by email or phone to check availability. If we have availability, you can book us right up until the day after the wedding - assuming the flowers have been kept and looked after.

  2. Pay a booking fee ($249) to secure the booking, and complete our booking form and terms and conditions. This booking fee will come off the total cost of the artwork. *NB, the minimum investment is $698 for an A2 artwork.

THE NEXT STEPS:

  • The day after the event – We will collect/receive your flowers (or we will source flowers, if required). For Sydney weddings, we usually collect your flowers the day after the wedding/event (from your home, from the home of family/friends, or from the hotel/reception venue) and bring them to our studio . Of course, you can deliver or post them to us if you prefer - especially if you are not in Sydney. (For more information regarding our pick up service, and for information regarding caring for your flowers and packing them up for delivery, please visit our Collection & Delivery page.)

  • Your flowers are then photographed in a range of ways over several days - until they can’t be photographed any longer. As most flowers are really delicate and perishable you will need to say goodbye to your bouquet when we collect it. After shooting, we edit your images and a selection of the best images are prepared as proofs for you to view.

  • At around 3-4 weeks, your proofs will be ready to view.  The 2nd instalment ($249) is required in order to view these images.

  • Then you choose your favourite. The timing is flexible - you may be on your honeymoon or moving house, for example. Once you’ve chosen, we arrange printing (and framing if you’d like us to arrange that too) and organise final payment (the balance).

Please see our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and our Terms and Conditions (T&C) pages for more information.

Floragraphica creates images from wedding bouquets, boutonnieres and posies, floral arrangements from engagements, christenings, funerals, twenty-firsts and bat mitzvahs, or any other flower that is important to you. And if you don't have a flower arrangement, we can source the type of flower you love and shoot that, so it still has special meaning to you.

We offer a complimentary pick-up service within metro/greater Sydney:

Metro & Greater Sydney

A pick up service from any metro or greater Sydney address (>50km from Sydney CBD) is included in the cost.  Your flowers can be picked up from a home, work or business address. You can nominate a friend or family members address if you will not be available. To book this service please use our online booking form "Get in touch" or telephone or email us.

Outer suburbs/Country Areas/Interstate

Pick up from suburbs outside of Sydney is available for a $50 fee.  Please use our contact form or message us for further information.

People in interstate, country NSW areas or far outer suburbs of Sydney can send their flowers through Australia Post (via express post for fast delivery and tracking).  Post it at your nearest Australia Post outlet via Express Post & keep a tracking information. (Refer to our instructions below regarding how to pack your flowers to send to us.)

We will provide you with the postage address and more specific instructions prior to your wedding date.

* Note that postage is at your expense, however we will refund the booking fee if the flowers are unworkable when they arrive.

* If you are sending your flowers through Australia Post, please ensure you have notified us of your booking so we know when to expect the parcel.  You can do this by using our contact form or by emailing us at elise@floragraphica.com.au.

CARE OF YOUR FLOWERS BEFORE SHIPPING

The fresher the flowers and the better the condition we receive them in, the better the finished art work will be.

Take care of your flowers during the event, and in particular, keep them out of direct heat as much as possible. Always take care laying them down, to avoid any breakages.

After your event, if you can, place them back in the box in which they were delivered. Otherwise, put them in a vase (if possible) or in another suitable box/container. Then, until collection/delivery, keep them in the coolest place you can.  You can spray them lightly with water or place damp paper towel over them (NOT newspaper).

Do not place them in the fridge, the freezer or in plastic (bag or wrap).

If you can place them in a vase, cut 1cm off the bottom of the stems before doing this.

NEVER FREEZE YOUR BOUQUET.

PACKING FLOWERS TO SEND TO US

If you live outside of the Sydney metro area (or outer suburbs with pick up arranged) you will need to pack and post your flowers in a box. We recommend purchasing a mailing/storage box in advance from Australia Post (ask your florist for the required dimensions) and using guaranteed next day delivery to ensure the flowers arrive in good condition.  You can also use a courier service if you want to be sure of extra care.

We offer no guarantees that we will be able to satisfactorily photograph the bouquet, but will let you know straight away if there are any issues.  We offer the option of deposit refund should the flowers be unworkable on arrival.

When we receive your interstate booking, we will send you a small care pack for you to use when you send us your flowers.  This contains a foam sheet that you dampen and wrap around the ends of the stems. It also contains a small cello bag to cover the foam sheet to keep the foam sheet - and therefore flower ends - wet, and to prevent the postage box from becoming damaged.

To pack your flowers/bouquet, place scrunched up tissue paper or newspaper in the bottom of the box. Place the flowers/bouquet (with the ends covered with the foam sheet and cello bag) on top of the paper, then place more paper around the sides of the flowers/bouquet so it is supported.

With longer arrangements/bouquets you may need to bend the trail or cut off the last few flowers to fit it into the box. You don’t need to worry about doing this as we will usually shoot extremely close to the bouquet.

If your bouquet is packed with care, no significant harm will come to them and they should arrive in good condition.

Make sure you put your name, address and phone number in the box with your flowers and mark the box as 'fragile'. Also, as mentioned above, please let us know when you have posted them so that we can be ready to receive them.
